Great Idea! Get one with a fan, and buy the two cheap thermometers that read the same temp, and test them with ice water before you use them, so you will know how many degrees off frm accurate they are. (with a full cup of ice and even water, it should read 32 exactly.)

Cochin, they can be frustraiting. Sometimes lots of work and little reward, but its the only way to get rare and expensive breeds. Oh, and if your like me, people send them to you all the time. I have 8 goose eggs coming. EIGHT. What the heck am I gonna do with geese??? Teach them to pull a magic flying cart? Make them be watch geese, and train them to nip (like they need help, right?)

You need encouraging. Your first try failed, and if your like me, its perfect or freaking forget it. I bet you are a perfectionist at heart. But seriioulsy, its way fun to hatch your own eggs, and sell the babies. Its a good way to learn to do everything perfect, and then leave the results to another (the preganent egg), since you can only control the process, not the outcome.

It helps me stay humble, and feel foolish from time to time. Now, who doesn't need that kind of humility??

my MOM doesnt like incubating eggs (i want to try) cause she says they never worked

but i think she

A) had a cheap bator
B) bad eggs
C) they needed help but her mom (my grandma, she drives me nuts cause i like to get dirty and play with snake but shes pretty strict) wouldnt know or wouldnt cause she didnt care much
