what happened to buddy and is Buddy your new dog?

Yes. He had two of his front toenails split all the way to the quick, and he bled everywhere. After talking to Kevin, I took him to the vet for a nail trim. They had to cut back his nails to the quick on 5 different nails, due to splits. He goes back again next month, then he shouldn't have any more trouble if I up his protein, and keep his nails trimmed. Poor boy, he was hobbling along all day. I put a sock and baggie on his foot to keep it clean, and from catching on our rugs. He reminded me of your rooster! Glad to report with nails much shorter, it doens't hurt him to walk much now.
