BR pee question

Every time I pick up my barred rocks they pee (clear liquid, not poo). I have never had any of my other breeds do this. Do any of you get this with your rocks???

I'm not quite sure what's going on with your birds but as far as I know birds don't pee-not even Barred Rocks

Well, its probably liquidy poo without the solids interspersed. They don't have a renal system like we do so they can't "pee"

I didn't think so...I just wanted to see if anyone elses birds do this. Do you think something is wrong??

Probably not. I bet they are just so nervous they splorted on you.

I have one hen that does it every time I pick her up. I have to face her out for a minute before holding her close

None of my 11 BR's do this.

Our BR, Pheobe, did this when she was little. Her droppings were filled with liquid but has solids in a little clump in the middle. She did it all the time, not when we picked her up. But now she's grown up and perfectly fine, a very mellow good layer!

Birds do indeed have renal systems (kidneys), and they do indeed "pee". What they don't have is a bladder. The pee and poo mixes together in the cloaca, and is usually released at the same time. USUALLY -- not always.
