Bragging on student's sewing !!! Pics 4/21 new pics with machine!

I starting read this post and thought ok I can sew my blocks by hand. That way I would have more chances to work on my blocks. Man your kids have me whipped. It is going to take a while for this old dog to learn a new trick. I am practicing on just straight lines and plain squares. PLEASE keep up the good work writer and way to go kids

Thank you, they are working so hard!! Right now we are doing State mandated testing and when the kids are done they have the choice to put their heads down and take a nap, read a book or I got permission for them to crochet or sew as long as they don't try and interact with anyone else. Since this means hours for some who finish early, they are practicing neat little stitches over and over an over,,, it's teaching them a lot of patience!

This is so heart warming and goes beyond just making something--it gives them skills but also teaches a process: patience, completion, pride. I hope your school library will have DIY books. Great job!
