I'm no expert, but going by tail feathers only, I'd say it is probably a rooster. If you have others from the same purchase that are supposed to be the same breed, compare them. Roosters usually will have bigger, more colorful tails, then develop a larger comb on the top of their heads & larger back claws on the back of their legs. Keep in min d my flocks have always been small & I've bought them as hatchlings. Over the years I have decided to start purchasing 4 month old hens, closer to laying age. Gives me a better ideas of the sex & have shorter time to wait for eggs. They usually cost ma yee about $15, but only by 1 or 2 a year for replacement. I live in a rural area, & finally decided it was not worth the trouble to let them range in the day. Try to keep their diet interesting with table scraps & fridge clean-outs. Good luck with your flock. PS Hubby has started pickling hard boiled eggs as another way of eating the eggs. They make a good snack & he makes great flavors!

He’s a cockerel. I would like to say how I love his face in the second photo, he just looks so cute in it 🥰
