I've been thinking cockerel also.

Cockerel, but I'd guess younger than that. He's still got down and his tail is still coming in.
Also, are you sure on the cross? Depending on what cross the EE was, I'd expect a pea comb... but he has a rose comb.

I got him from a friend so I am not sure of the cross honestly. She has a variety of breeds and mixes.
