The chickie has vulture hocks, which means it might be a D’Uccle mix.

Neither Brahmas nor Cochins should have vulture hocks.

While vulture hocks are considered to be a disqualification in all of the Asiatic breeds, the Cochin is an anomaly within the class as the only breed within the class in which the very best specimens carry the genes for vulture hocks.

You might want to bring in another Brahma into your setup?

Am aware that it could be difficult to get one that does not throw vulture hocks.

For example.....

I would love to have some Brahmas....but....

I happen to live in an area where Brahma broodstock is rare and is located over 100 miles away. The Brahma breeders who have good birds are either oversubscribed or involved in their own breeding programs.

In my area, there are many lines and strains of a couple breeds that are quite different from Brahmas or Cochins, that would not be used with them in a breeding program. There is a paucity of Brahmas or Cochins.

S/He may be a Cochin, we got some eggs from a local farm with different breeds, and ludo was the only one to hatch. S/He looked a lot like a Brahma chick, but as my first chick it was a guess .

You guessed well, but Brahmas come in white, buff, and grey pencil.
The accurate color names are light Brahma, Buff Brahma, and dark Brahma.
