Hi all
I have 5 Brahma chicks 4/5 weeks in age.
I know we can’t tell the sex for sure at this age but wondered if anybody had any ideas?

Also some noticeable differences are 1-4 all have well developed tails whereas you can see 5’s is much further behind.
1-4 also have similar combs whereas 5’s is much wider and has a slight yellow tone to it

You are going to have one beautiful flock! :love

None of them scream cockerel to me at this point but I think it may be too soon to tell for sure.

I find it kind of amusing that different chicks' tails grow at different speeds when they are little! At such a young age, I don't think it necessarily indicates boy vs girl, though my personal experience is mostly with comparing pullets to pullets.

I have 3 that are older and was curious if the speed of leg feathering is any indication. 2 have their tails with minimal leg feathers and one has barely any tail and fully feathered legs. This one also is at the bottom of the pecking order and at only 7 or so weeks is bare on its back from being pecked. 😞
