hi everyone! New member here! I’d like to introduce myself by saying I have 4 lovely chickens. 3, 12 week old pullets (silver laced wyandotte, golden laced Wyandotte & a Delaware) and then a 9 week old Brahma pullet. The issue is, that the Brahma has had diarrhea for the past week (that I’ve noticed.) It’s a light brown color and smells! Any idea what this could be? Too much treats, not right food, worms, etc? And any ideas to help eliminate the smell it leaves behind? Thanks!

Did you raise them from day old chicks....or buy them recently?
What all and how exactly are you feeding?

Wondering if you're seeing cecal poops?
Perfectly normal, can be several per day, and yes they stink!
Posting a pic of said poop would help immensely.
Gross maybe, but common here... one of the best diagnostic tools.

Good visual references for all kinds of poops,
just don't jump to any terrible conclusions too quickly:

Oh, and....Welcome to BYC! @Countrychickengirl24
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!

I bought all my pullets from Dodge Grain Co. I bought the Brahma a couple weeks after I had bought my original 3 from them as well. for regular feed I’m using Producer’s Pride 16% layer feed (purchased from Tractor Supply Company). For treats, was only meal worms, a half a cantaloupe and bread. I’m in MA so it’s getting cold here. I will try to get a pic of the poop today

12 week old birds should not be on layer feed...
....they still need more protein to complete their maturation.
How long have you been feeding layer?

Cantelope, any melon, can give them juicy poops.

I’ve been giving it for a couple weeks but will definitely switch it

I realized all 4 chickens have that poop now. Here is a picture @aart Is this due to wrong food or something else?
