Brahma molting question

I've never had to treat it myself, but I believe the treatments are the same. Just slather the legs, feet and feathers with Vaseline. You'll have to do this a couple of times to make sure that you kill the mites and the eggs.

I’m picturing lots of greasy mud... lol. I’ll hold off on that for the time being. I started out treating like that, working with some rescues with very bad SLM. It was months of washing, gently brushing with soft toothbrushes, and slathering the Vaseline all over. X 18 rescue birds. Then a good shower and change of clothes before I could return to my own flock.

I now jump straight to controversial chemical treatments, as it’s more effective and less messy, although they still get pedicures to debride and remove dead scales/skin and mite poop build up as needed. They haven’t really enjoyed the soaking process, and as it’s winter here I’m trying to focus on keeping everyone as dry as possible at all times.
