Brahma roosters

I am curious. These three chickens (a mix from light Brahma hens and an EE rooster) hatched within a couple days of each other two months ago. The one in the single pic (the rooster) had a tough hatch, I had to assist a bit and he had curl toe, which we quickly corrected, but he is much smaller. Is this typical of the roosters to be so much smaller?

The same thing happened to my silkie that hatched with curled toes. I don’t know what it could be though.
