I'm completely new to this. I only had a few interactions with chickens when I was little and didn't care for them. When I moved into my new house last year the neighbors all had free range chickens running around and my husband finally convinced me to get some chicks and start our own little brood. We have 10 little chicks now and I am LOVING IT!! (Unfortunately we found out after we got them that they happen to be all cockerels) I also have no idea what breeds they are but looking around and reading up on the different breeds I've found some really pretty ones I'd love to have one day, like the Sumatra but we're mainly going to be having the chickens for eggs, fertilizer and expanding the brood.
I actually heard about BYC from doing a search looking on how to take care of chicks and I've been hooked ever since but finally got around to joining and so far I'm really glad I did. Look forward to using this site!!
