(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I got my first 6, 6 weeks ago and I just got another 6 yesterday for Mother's Day. I am in total LOVE with my babies!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 12 now. 6 are 6 weeks old and 6 are 2 weeks old.
(3) What breeds do you have?
all of them are Americana. the 6 older ones are red and the new ones are black.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
I was on Google to find out how long I have to keep my 6 week old babies in the coup before I can let them free range and the site came up. Very helpful information so I decided to join the group.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I am an avid outdoors woman. I like to fish, hunt, work on my farm and cook.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have one older sister, I've been married to my wonderful husband for 10 years, I have 3 dogs, 1 cat, 4 goldfish, and now 12 chickens! I live on a 15 acre farm in Okeechobee, Florida.
