(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes I am brand new to chickens. We’re new farm owners as of last year!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now, we have about 19 chickens
(3) What breeds do you have?
Well, that’s what I am here to find out. I know I have 6 Banty chicks, and 2 roosters I’m not sure of breed. I also have one hen I’m not sure her breed, and another chicken I THINK is a barred rock and I THINK is a rooster. We also have 9 little teenager chickens of some breed I don’t know. My husband gets them for me and it’s my job to be the investigator.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
So far, it’s been the most fun watching how curious and quite nosy they are. My 4 originals are pretty well grown now and are very in my business.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I play roller derby and read!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a little girl who is turning 2 in June. We have a whole zoo of dogs and cats and birds, and now chickens! Although, the chickens live at our farm. I have always lived in the city, so to spend time at our farm is quite a difference for me. But we love it and eventually will retire here good lord willing.

I found BYC by just hunting up chicken knowledge!
