I got my chicks from the local feed and seed on 9 May. I think they are about 7 weeks. I know that 4 are Easter Eggers and 2 are Welsummers, but I don't know their sexes. Unfortunately, if there is a roo in the bunch, then I'll have to get rid of him. I have perused most of the sites but can find traits to support both genders due to my complete ignorance. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Jaqueline (Jack -- EE)

Redhead (Red -- EE)

Fredrika (Fred -- EE)

Chipmunk (Chip -- Welsummer)

I have 6, but these are the three that let us get them tonight. Thanks.

They are pullets roosters would have a bigger comb. You can usually be able to start seeing the comb come out at 4weeks of age. Beautiful pullets by the way.

Great, thanks. I was really fearing eliminating a member of my flock. Seriously, these chickens are therapeutic. I love sitting outside in the evening and watching my chickens! My daughter calls herself a "chicken hawk" and swoops down and picks them up to hold. I was a little worried about Jack being a roo, she's the only one that is not brown.

You are welcome, I love sitting outside with my chickens also I have a game rooster and two game hens one is broody with 14 road island red eggs that are going to hatch this Monday I also have a red sexlink hen, and 20 road island, barred rock, buff orpton, game, and one unkown chick and 4 ducks 2-5 weeks of age. That I love to go out and watch my little brother loves to go inside the pen and catch them.

Good Luck come Monday when you have 14 new chicks :) I'm jealous, but we live in town and have ordinances against roosters and limit our number. I am happy that we live in a community that allows them at all. I had no idea that I would love being a chicken mom. My poor dog is wondering why she doesn't have wings...she thinks she's a chicken now.

Haha poor dog. I love being a chicken dad.
