And what is new about a wood coop?? Not ripping on you but you need to sell your product a bit more than "new design".

Chris,

Maybe because I know Dan your post does sound like a rip to me... read his comments on that link:

"Does This Coop Look Familiar??? It should its one of the famous wine country coops that Start at $2,700 plus over a $1,000 for shipping! Below is Our New Improved version. A customer had us copy this coop, but we improved it in many ways, and we sell it for ONLY $950!"

What is novel about his products is he uses really high grade pine and one ups a lot of designs people want (like his version of the A-frame tractor for a lot less money). So on the surface they look like the same old same old, but when you read his texts AND TALK TO HIM like I have it's something to be excited about. Any guy with kids, a mortage to pay and no job who's trying to make an honest living selling high quality coops designed to your specs needs a little lift... We can't wait to get him to build our new coop.

Speaking of giving a decent guy a lift, I took a look at YOUR website Chris... Where the hell were you in the 70's when I was working on my '55 Nomad ?? LOL.

I spent a lot of time reviewing the work you did restoring that Cougar, that is some awesome work. (I got a '68 Cougar with the money I made selling my Nomad).
To me the lengths you went to, really rebuilding that Cougar, is the kind of work Dan does with coops. Most folks would not go to the lengths to restore a car the way you did.
Dan does similiar work but with wood... A lot of love there Chris, kudos.

Dan,

We're anxiously awaiting news from IRS, and it looks like you're working real hard these days.
Good for you my friend.

I know personally its a little anoying to have spam/business postings in the coop section. Is there a business section where people can post?

I really didn't mean to be mean. I just thought this subject should be in a different section. Other stuff for sale or what ever it is called.

I don't doubt the quality of the coop. I'm sure Dan will sell many.

Not trying to spam, just posting the newest pics of a coop I'm building in the coops section. And it happens that you can buy it as well. If you go to coop designs pics on this site, there is a few coops that you have to buy the plans from these people, that isnt spamming as you say? I'm just trying to make a living anyway I can in this ruff economy. So if I upset anyone I appoligise.

BIGMIKE: Anytime your ready my friend, just trying to get a few finished right now for a local feed store that wants to carry a few models, unfortunately its a consignment sort of thing but it's a good start. Between the snow and the freezing cold here I haven't been building them as fast as I'd like to. I'm going out to finish the new improved Wine country coop design today. I made it so it has a 3-1/2 litter tray on the floor, and over that is 3 seperately framed and wired panels that come out so you can clean. I built them in 3 so that each frame will fit through the small front door. Then you just kind of lean in and shop vac the shavings out. Its pretty easy to take care of. I also have it wired for electric with a ceramic fixture ready for a bulb on the ceiling. It has an electrical outside box mounted on the side that you run an extension coard to to give the coop power. now tonight, I have to work on finishing the cabinet incubator so I can get some pics up. Take care Mike, I'll speak with ya soon, I have to get on the phone with ya and figure out your coop, maybe you can scetch me something and either fax or email it to me.

Dan

Dan,

Glad you are staying busy and have the consignment thing as an optional income. You sound like you like staying busy. We'll do our share of keeping you busy. And I apologize to anyone that was offended, my wife and I are sorta new here and don't know what floats and what doesn't as far as protocols here.

Dan, we still want this coop:

with a linoleum remnant floor... The more I think about it the more I don't want an outside nest box (build them inside like in that photo) and put the run going off THE BACK of the coop. 6 ft. wide, 6 ft. high and 10 ft. long. That will give our little cochins something to play in. LOL And I really like the idea of the junction box for an extension cord and ceramic lamp fixtures inside... Smart idea Dude.

I'll call you over the weekend, got my wife's b-day coming up and really want to get our coop started with you... Meanwhile you hang in there and stay busy...

Michael
