hello everyone ! I'm Ashley and I'm new to the group and I'm a little shy until I get to know people .
I've been raising chickens for about 2 yrs after I moved onto a small farm my bestie owns here in east Tennessee .It took me about 3 seconds to fall in love with a little polish hen I ended up naming grey grey lol because well she was gray haha .I've gotten much better with names and I've learned A LOT in this time ..but there's always so much more to learn .
In addition to grey grey,we have about 60 other chickens ,including silkies, polish,Australorps,americaunas, one crazy frizzle,and quite a few combinations of those lol.
In addition to chickens i also share my life with my best doggie friend Bella ,a bunny named Jude, and a very crazy pigeon named Lucy who thinks she is in charge of everyone and she kind of is haha.
I joined byc after reading alot of the threads and seeing how much support and help everyone gives too each other which I'm in need of at the moment and will post in my first thead.im very happy to be here and can't wait to get to know everyone .

Don't think a thing about naming your hen obviously. One of my first hens was a Buff Orpington, previously named Buffy. When I decided that was too generic, my choice -- Honey -- based on her rich, beautiful coloring, wasn't really much better!

Sounds like you've found your happy place -- a farm and an incredible menagerie.
