Glad to meet you. Sorry about your rooster. You might use Craigslist to rehome him, or try using the Texas thread here on BYC to see if somebody near you wants to take him. Be sure to include your town/area so folks know if they want to drive that far for the bird. And take a good "glamor" shot of the boy to help him get a good home. Include what breed he is and where you got him from.
