Hello! I am Alison. I live in NH. About 6 weeks ago, I purchased 8 production reds, 2 RIR, and 2 ....hmmm white chickens that are "interesting" ( I will be posting a question about those two...) plus 2 pekin ducks and 2 Swedish blues.

My husband built a kick-a** chicken house and run for them and we have a small pond that the ducks have already taking quite a liking to.

I have SO MANY questions, so I think I have some to the right place! This is definitely a plethora of chicken info and I am very thankful you guys exist!

Thanks!
Alison

Hi :welcome Alison

Glad you could join the flock! That's a great selection you have started out with there, a lovely mix.
If you are unsure of your "White ones" you could post some pics in the what breed gender section of the forum. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this

Also have you dropped by the duck section? Lots of duck keepers there who can help you with all your duck questions. ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks

Be sure to ask any questions that you have, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy BYC :frow

Nice to meet you Allison, glad your joined the BYC flock. Am I reading between the lines, when you say you have whites that are "interesting", I'm wondering if you are yet another people who was sold Cornish x meat birds instead of layer breeds.

Congrats on the well built coop. Good luck with your lovely flock! Definitely check out the breed and gender link provided by Yorkshire Coop. ^ Our learning center is full of helpful info you may enjoy checking out. It also has a other poultry section where there is info on ducks. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center
