brand new to chickens, loving it but challenged too

Hello! I am brand new to chicken keeping but have looked forward to this for the last 5 years. We have 10 layers (just started laying in October) and 15 teenagers (easter egger barnyard mix with some copper maran in the mix). I have been enjoying the chats and so thankful for the wealth of info on the site. We are keeping chickens mostly as pets, compost manufacturers and egg production). We talk with our chickens and visit them regularly. My kids love giving them uppies and the chickens seem to enjoy the attention. So so much to learn.
Welcome to BYC!!

:welcome

I'm new to chickens as well, and like you, am mainly keeping them as pets and for the egg production. I've learned so much from this forum and the search function does wonders.
