The wife and myself are venturing into raising our own chickens. Our property in MA (one of the reasons we love it) has 2 acres and used to have a backyard horse farm with a barn and fenced paddock. The paddock has overgrown to a field, perfect for chicks to wander, and I converted one of the barn stables to be a coop - already has water and electricity, perfect. I received a dozen chicks on memorial day weekend that were hatched from eggs from a local school that got them from a farmer who described them as farm mutts. I was hoping to be able to identify some of the breeds - I assume genders will be later as they are only 3 weeks old.

I think this is a Plymouth Rock (hen due to wing patterning?)

Our RI Red Mix? Although he looks like an eagle to me. I hope its a hen because this guy is awesome. Picks fights with the dogs and eats flies like a champ.

Absolutely no idea who this guy is.

The rest of the gang is made of these white/yellow fellows...

If they were described as "farm mutts" then they likely came from a mixed flock. Depending on what breeds the guy had you may or may not have pure breeds. I expect he had several Leghorns, going by your last picture. The one with it's head down could be a cockerel given the size of the comb.
