Brand new to the chicken world...

My name is Michelle Kirkham, I'm 39 and I live in Penhook, Va. I do not have any chickens yet but am very intrigued with the prospect. I joined so I could learn more about these beautiful breeds. I want to do my homework before I get any so I know what to expect, so any advice would be much appreciated and I will be peeking at many of the post on here. So glad you have this forum!

Hello and welcome to BYC!

Having chickens has been a wonderful experience for me. We bought our chicks before we even started our coop and run. I love raising them from little chicks. I'm about to recieve my first egg soon, as my oldest 3 have reached 5 months of age. I'm very happy with my mixed flock of 8.
