Hi there, I am Mandy in Victoria, BC, Canada and here are my intro questions!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have not actually gotten chickens yet, I am still in the deciding on a breed stage, although I have narrowed it down.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Zero
(3) What breeds do you have?
I am looking at Buff Orpingtons.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love that they are not your standard pets, you can use them as a food source (eggs), and they are nice to look at.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Weaving, knitting, weight lifting, hiking.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married, 6 kids (2 grown), a dog, 3 cats (all indoor). My husband and I are both members of the Canadian Military, I am also a full time university student and hubs will be a fully licensed real estate agent shortly.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I only just found it and I am super happy to be here. Can't wait to get my chickens!
