Brand new!

Hello and :welcome
Good luck with your chicks and building your coop! It's usually uncertain as to their gender until they're a couple of months old, but there are subtle ways of telling when they're younger. You can post a picture in What breed or gender is this and I'm sure you'll get lots of help.
Enjoy! :D

I spent like an hour last night just sitting and watching and taking pictures. Based on other people's pictures, I think people would be able to give me a good idea. I am embarrassed to admit that my biggest problem is telling them apart!

The ones that are the same breed/color look soooo similar to me. I wrote down last night marks on some of them that I thought differentiated them, but I can't tell which chick it is in the pictures! Id hate for someone to tell me what they thought and then not be able to match the picture to the correct chick! Haha I feel like such a newbie :-)

from Ohio!

Go ahead and post your pictures. Many of us have multiples of one breed that we can't tell apart. Chicks change everyday, so one that had noticeable markings one day will not the next. Once you have gotten to know them, little changes in their comb, or feather pattern, or the one who enjoys your company and comes running when they hear you open the door will help you to tell them apart.

All of our Buff Orpington are Marilyn, and all of our Speckled Sussex are Dotty. LOL, they don't mind.
