Hey, all! I'm a huge researcher, but I'm at a loss. I'm trying to design a portable coop and run to be used on uneven terrain. I had what I thought was a great predator proof run design, but with my uneven/sloping yard, I'm afraid a critter or snake will get underneath an edge of a solid run if it's not completely flush with the ground. I've read where folks have used electric netting and moved the whole fence. I really want to be able to move my future chickens to fresh pasture, but I want them to be super safe from snakes and overhead predators. My coop is the Formex Snap-lock large coop. Trying to get a plan for attaching an automatic door to it, too, but first things first. Any one have any ideas on an easily movable run that I can attach to my coop that will provide protection on uneven terrain? Thank you!!!

Hi from Florida.

Chickens can take care of smaller snakes. I find night time predators more of a problem then day time. My chickens get out of the run easily and I am on flat land. They crawl right under the fences.

You might want to post your question under the tab about coops and runs. There are many people who use electronic fencing.

Glad you joined us!

Thank you so much! I'm starting to think electric fencing is the way to go to keep them safest given my terrain. I'm the one with the snake problem--I'm terrified of them! Thank you all for your input, and I'll keep researching. My babies are due to hatch next weekend and I can't wait!
