Am still up in the air as to how many to have but I just thought six chickens would be a good start I've done plenty of research about chicken plus would not say am totally new with chicken I grew up around chicken when I was in Jamaica land of beauty any way yes I loved having chickens back then and I had du KS as well. Duck eggs are something special the taste was like no other.
 
I could build a coop as big as a 10'×10' with the run being 10'w 25'L x10'w. With a coop this big I could have 10 chicken. But like 8 said still thinking about the quantity. My daughter is gonna be five n she loves going to see my mother in laws friends chicken and bringing home the eggs from the chicken she just visited the look on her face is priceless takes me back when I was a kid.
 
As for the breed of chickens am thinking Ameracauna,Rhode Island and silver Wyandotte there's a few others as well but this is just a couple. The only reason these specific breeds is because of the winter and I know my daughter is going to want to play with them .so having flighty birds would be a no no and the cold climate I am taking in consideration as well.
