So we have two coops that open to the same run. They are on top of each other. The top coop is where the big girls sleep. It has 2 hens and 3 pol pullets. The bottom has our 6 week old chicks. (5 of them) The door is only opened half way so the chicks can go in and out but the hens cant bother them. The hens believe the chicks need to stay in their coop or the small part of the run (we have a larger run that the run opens into). So they will send them back to their room if they venture out.
Well after it starts getting dark, they all go into roost. The last several nights when we go to shut them up, the gsl chick is up in the top coop with the hens lol. I think it waits until they go to sleep and then sneaks in there! We of course move her back down to her coop, but it is cute, she keeps trying to be a big girl! When she is bigger, we may let her try to stay, but not yet!
