Bread ????

Our girls LOVE corn tortillas. Break them up & hand them out.

Yesterday one of the girls got a hold of a stack 4 layers high (I was folding up a single tortilla to break up & share evenly). She TOOK OFF with the big chunks. The other 3 chickens and I were all chasing her for those pieces.

Mine love bread also. I feed them the older bread. I just got done giving the silkies some bread about 30 min. ago. They loved it!

Yep, bread, bagels, and tortillas, all common treats around here!!

Well, since it's summer and I'm not teaching, my mornings are more relaxed. I take my bagel and coffee outside in the morning and have breakfast with the chickens. I break off bits of my whole wheat bagel and drop it on the ground for them. Lately I've been holding a piece in my hand and they come up and take bites of it. Nellie jumps up in my lap and I feed her pieces of bagel. It's a nice way to start the day!

This is really good to know. I haven't been feeding bread because I heard that same thing from a chicken farmer close by. Now I can give them our stale bread

Maybe with a tomato on it!
