One of my hens went broody last year. I read some pretty extreme treatments on this site, mainly putting a broody hen in an empty cage. I couldn’t do that to her. So I just scooted her out of the nesting box a couple of times a day so she’d eat and drink. After probably a month, she snapped out of it. She’s now my most affectionate hen, always squatting down to be petted when I’m nearby. Treat her kindly.Year old BO was in nesting box for 6 hours so I grabbed her and put her on the floor multiple times. She looked very wide, was making Quiet kuk kuk sound and hopped backed in the nesting box. Took her out again and placed two gallon size buckets in both nesting boxes, she kept trying to wedge her way in for around 20 minutes before giving up and joining the others on the roosting bar.
I assume there is no doubt she has gone broody so what should I do tomorrow to change her behavior.
