I've got a broody hen and I want to break her broodiness since she is sitting on nothing... I was wondering after I broke her broodiness if she will ever become broody again because if the eggs are fertile I'd love to have chicks

It all depends on the hen. Some r naturally broody and other not so much. I have silkies that I break their broodiness and they go right back to it a month or so after. Then I had a rir and a leghorn that did it once last year and hasn't been broody since.

A hen prone to broodiness will go broody again - no problem. I have a hen that lays for 2 weeks and then goes broody. I break her broodiness, and after a week she will begin laying (for 2 weeks) and the cycle continues. She does this all year round and it drives me nuts!
