Ok, so 3/5 of my hens are currently broody. I've broken all 3 of them of being broody before (2nd time this year for 2 of them, 3rd time for the other one). Usually a few days in the broody buster will do it, though one of them is particularly determined and I had to move the broody buster outside so she couldn't see the nest before she stopped being broody.

I only have 1 broody buster atm, so I'll be making 2 more this morning. But I'm wondering where would be best to put them. The run gets shade most of the day, except for a few hours in late afternoon where its full sun. Outside is often cooler than inside, especially if there's a breeze. Inside might be warmer overall, but if I leave them to it they will be inside all day anyway.🤔 Opinions are welcome as I'm not sure which would be better. For them to be inside where it's warm and the air is still. Or outside where it'll be cooler most of the day but warmer for a few hours toward evening.

You want them to be in an active location so they engage. Also a sunny bright area with no dark "hideyholes". Mindful of overheating in the sun.
I place mine under a shade tree with plenty of food and water. Still diffused light though. Open on all 4 sides co they get a cool breese.
Broodies seem to go Into a "stillness coma" , and also their body temp goes up. So activity, brightness, open air to cool them, all this helps to bring them out of broodiness.
Good luck!

Yes, open air and being able to mingle with the flock while confined has worked wonders. I have a small enclosure attached to a little hutch. I originally used it for a mama and chicks, or previously to separate a very rambunctious roo...either way it's worked out great. it's staked at the bottom and located at the back of the coop. It gets shade most of the day...or they can go under the little hutch ( has no bottom, I took tray out) for shade or if it rains ( Supposed to be for a rabbit, but eh whatever works). And at night I have a cage with branches for roosts so they can't lay down and nest. Few days in broody jail and they are good. ( I really need to take a pic at this point). I'm on my 10th broody this summer.

For my brooder buster, I use a metal dog crate placed within the main chicken run. Works great. She still gets to be near the rest of the flock.
When she finally stops that telltale broody cluck, it's usually safe to let her back out. Sometimes that's after 2 days, sometimes a little longer.
I wish going by the cluck was enough for me. One of my birds is currently stuck in broody cluck mode even though she actually broke weeks ago. It's like she used to speak English and suddenly started speaking French and now can only speak in French. It's driving the other hens crazy! :D
