Sorry that you lost Sugar Cookie. You could get a diagnosis with a necropsy by your state vet lab pathologist if his body is kept cold, but not frozen. This is a list of state vets to contact:

Thanks again guys for going through this with me. I did the necropsy on his crop and surrounding throat passage up to his beak and the only thing present was food particles. Not even in a ball like it felt from the outside. My husband postulated that maybe he couldn't digest because his gizzard possibly gave out and since it couldn't break down the food everything started backing up. No obvious tumors or any other malignancy that I could recognize. I was worried I couldn't go through with it but looking at it from a somewhat objective eye I told myself Cookie isn't here. He's with my dad crowing in his ear. This is just a shell . It made it much easier. Thank you again everyone,
