Hi chicken loving friends! We have six 13 week old chicks, two of which were sold to us as speckled Sussex but I believe them to actually be silver laced Wyandotte’s. Can anyone confirm for me? I’m also curious to know if one might be a roo. Since they are exactly the same age and one’s waddle development seems to be much further along. “Her” tail feathers are also curved and less defined than the other’s. The first two pics are of our suspected roo, Frida. The second two are of the other SLW, Hopper (after Grace Hopper). Thanks in Advance!

Looks like a pullet to me, but I could be wrong. Her/his hackles and saddle feathers don't seem to rooster like. I've had plenty of pullets with curved or almost rooster like tails. The combs and wattle do look a little over the average red, but not overly red or large. Maybe a comparison photo? Her/his legs don't look overly large and s/he holds her/himself like a pullet too. And yes that is a silver laced Wyandotte not a speckled Sussex.

Hi! I own a SLW as well! I think they are both pullets. If one were a rooster, it would be Frida, however she/he doesn’t show any “manly” signs, especially for 13 weeks. Hope that helps! :)
