Breed and gender please 8w old

Any guesses. I am still really new to this. I have 2 of these

The comb size and color says roo to me, but the dark barring looks more pullet. The legs seem pretty darn big and yellow, though, which makes me vote roo. In terms of breed, although marans is an option, they seem like mostly barred rock, either poor quality or mixed barred rock. (poor quality as in the coloring, not the health of the birds!)

Mixed breeds, maybe with Barred Plymouth Rock. The one in the first photo is a cockerel and the other one may be one too (but I can't see it's head very well in other photos).

The barred birds appear to be Barred Rock cockerels, or Barred Rock mix cockerels.
