Breed and gender?

Also I have a solid black ee which lays light brown eggs. My solid brown ee used to lay the prettiest green eggs before being snagged by a coyote. Missing those green eggs! They were the result of a orpington roo over a ccl hen. They retained the solid feathering, but had the crest, comb and at least 1 had the gene that causes the colored egg laying ability.
Interesting! Sorry about your hen, I recently had a fox attack and lost a few

Your teacher friend shouldn't have too much trouble rehoming them. Legbars are well known for their fantastic laying ability and many people love ee's for their colored eggs. Rehome them as a pair each.

Those two hatched from brown eggs... aren’t EE eggs usually blue green or could they also be brown?
They could also be Olive Eggers if they hatched from dark brown eggs. OE are similar to an EE (mixed mutt), but likely to lay a darker green egg. My fav chix!!

I’d take them if they were both females... but I already have too many roos! Are we positive the brown and white is male? The comb doesn’t look so big...
