Oh yea now I totally see the different pattern. It was harder to see in the original photos! I’m thinking some type of mix then! Here's some better pictures. Hope this helps
Thank you. Do you know what BSL means? Someone above said he looks like a BSL. But I don't know what that's an abbreviation for. I'm newer here so don't know all the slang yet lolOh yea now I totally see the different pattern. It was harder to see in the original photos! I’m thinking some type of mix then!
BSL means Black Sex Link, which I could see that may be what he is.Thank you. Do you know what BSL means? Someone above said he looks like a BSL. But I don't know what that's an abbreviation for. I'm newer here so don't know all the slang yet lol
Thanks for the info. He is huge. You don't think he's a meat bird? He's at least double the size of my 3 barred rock pullets that are only 2-3 days younger than him. Is he just so much bigger because of his breed and because he's a roo? His feet are huge. He's sweet (I hope he'll stay this way lol)and has learned to stand on the feeder to flip it so that it dumps feed on the ground so he can eat it faster.BSL means Black Sex Link, which I could see that may be what he is.
He's definitely not a meat bird. They're white, and are noticeably larger and meatier at a much younger age then he is now. They usually get culled at have his age. Thanks for the info. He is huge. I hardly have any genetic knowledge so I don't know.I have a Plymoth Barred Rock (16-17 weeks), Buff Brahma (16-17 weeks), Amber Links (16-17 weeks),Rhode Island Reds (13-14 weeks), Ameraucana (8-10 weeks), and then they young ones we decided to add, Dark Brahmas, Plymouth Barred Rock, and Cream Legbar (all about 4-5 weeks). With not knowing what this Cockerell is, would any of the chicks be sex linked?
Hmm, not sure. Never had bantams, but I'm gonna say they should be ok, could be wrong though. All of them besides this one are pullets. We also have two OEGB (both roos), one silver duckwing and one Barred. Will the Bantam roos be able to breed full sized girls?
No worries! We're all learning!Sorry for all of the questions.
