I have a pretty mixed flock. EE, Wyandotte, maran, barred rock, white leghorn, buff, black sex link, and brahma. I'm curious as to when your hens of these breeds started laying, at what age? Thanks in advance!

White leghorns and most sex links usually begin earlier than other breeds at at 16-20 weeks. Mine started at 18 weeks.

My Easter eggers layed pretty early around 22 weeks.

However, my buff Orpingtons, SL Wyandottes, light and dark Brahmas, and my BC Marans all began laying later, usually beginning at around 26-30 weeks. They are great layers though!

Great, I still have a while to wait yet, but I'm so excited! I have had chickens before but it has been a while, and the point of waiting for them to lay the first egg is the worst. Hoping the sex links and leghorns will start early to make up for the long wait for the others! Lol thanks for sharing!
