Hi,
Anyone out there have pictures of juvenile Calico Princess? I have 2 but they look decidedly different, and I've been told the Roos are white so wondering if I have 2 Calico Princess' or something else. Or do the Roos start out this this color and get white? Can't find much info on them.
They are the same age, but one is getting much bigger than the other and feather colors are different too.

i dont even know what a calico princess is tbh, these american hatcheries make more hybrids and crosses than anything else - no im not just jealous that i cant get chickens in the mail /:

I have them. Mine look just like that and they look to be pullets since they are sex linked. The pullets are tan and the roos are white. They are hybrids and come from Hoover's Hatchery. I have noticed that the size of the pullets seems to be all over the map from large for their age to small for their age. hth

Good to know. One of them is much larger than the other, and the smaller of the two is extremely friendly. How old are yours?

This is my calico princess named Rhoda. She loves to sit on my lap and let me pet her. She is the sweetest bird in my flock. I just love the calico feathering pattern starting to come in on her wings and tail feathers. Her coloring is more amber than red. I have 2 golden comets that are definitely more red than my sweet girl Rhoda here. I have to say I love this bird. I have 2 sapphire gems, a black maran, a welsummer, 3 buff laced polish, 2 americanas, 2 golden comets and my calico princess. All 4 weeks old tomorrow.

hybrid breed that originated in the Czech Republic and is a cross between the Columbian Sussex and Barred Rhode Island Red breeds. Of course Hoover has mentioned by another could use they choice and hence you may get slightly different coloring but they are not yet fully adults and so expect a little more changes to end up.looking more like...https://images.app.goo.gl/GFTXjJ61ayruAYNZ7

I just got a couple because they are so suppose to be great layers. Large brown eggs, docile. Friendly but larger birds fully grown. Great forager and easy to care for. They are fairly new to us in this region hence why not alot of literature unless from other owners. They are sex.linked as mentioned and the pullets are brown . So just give it a minute I ve read some they can lay as early as 16 weeks or late so depends on how happy they are I guess...lol
