My sisters got a goose when it as a day old from a mixed bin. (S)he's now 6 weeks old today.

I'm pretty sure Goosey is African or Chinese but I'd like to know which. I've read that Africans are much heavier than Chinese but can't find anything about their relative weights as they mature so you could distinguish them apart from a younger age. Goosey weighs appromixately 5 1/2 lbs. (2.5 kilos). Can you tell what breed from the weight and conformation at her age?

Turns out she's African! Talked to the people at the feed store and they said they never got in Chinese so she has to be African. She's now 11 weeks and about eight pounds, if I'm weighing her right.

Boy is she pretty, wish you could get her a goose friend though they really love having one of their own since they are flock animals.
