I’m new to chickens and was hoping to get your opinion on the breed of chickens I have and if the one in the photo is a rooster.

I purchased 5 “Ameraucana” chicks at 7 weeks old that were all supposed to be pullets, but this one in particular has a very pronounced red comb compared to the others.

They are just over 12 weeks old now, and being new to this, I’m not confident in what exactly I’m looking for in the hackle & saddle feather shape that I’ve read can be used to identify sex, so my hunch is just going off the comb difference.

I wonder if you could help me determine hen or rooster on the other ones I got. Now I’m seeing “comb” development on others and wondering if I got a bunch of roosters.

The one I asked about last week is now showing brown feathers on wings and hackles.

Two photos of each (4 birds)

1&2 - whitey
3&4 - blue
5&6 - blackie 1
7&8 - blackie 2 (can’t seem to make friends)

Unfortunately, I think that last one is the only pullet.

Oh no hmm... it's a bit hard to tell in the lighting here, do they all have saddle feathers? Skinny, shiny feathers around the area where back meets tail (may also see these skinny shiny feathers around the neck). These feathers look different on teenage females/pullets they'll remain round while boys grow in their fancy feathers
