She’s your barnevelder mix. I’m fairly certain the other two black and gold ones are purebred barnevelders.Ok, I'd forgotten about#2 (the other red crested one) it was another dog casualty. But here's a few more more pics of #5 (the black one with the reddish breast). Barnevelder is what first came to mind when I got them but I've only ever had one and she was full grown when I got her. Them all being different shades of the same colors threw me off too. I checked the crested brown and she DOES have white in her earlobes! Super excited about that! I got some EEs and wheaten marans chicks (and a bunch others, I couldn't help it, lol) to add some new egg colors but in my experience the EEs almost always lay shades of green eggs so if this girl ends up laying a blue egg I'll be SO excited!

Well that's fantastic! Thank you so much for taking the time to look and give me your feedback! That barnevelder I had way back when was one of my favorites, she wasn't just pretty to look at, she was a consistent layer, had a sweet personality and was a great mama too! These are already showing nice dispositions so I'm pleased as can be with these freebies! She’s your barnevelder mix. I’m fairly certain the other two black and gold ones are purebred barnevelders.
