Breed guesses??

So I know they’re a mix, but I’m curious if there are any telltale signs as to what breed they’re closest to looking like? Mom is a Cochin, dad was either a BCM, Silverudds Blue, Cochin, or Langshan (she visited several breeder pens). I’m really hoping for one of them to be part Silverudds, but I know nothing about them as far to know if there are any signs that one is part Silverudds. Or if I’m just going to have to wait and see what color egg they lay? If one does have the green egg gene, would being crossed with a Cochin make it an Olive Egger? Thanks!

If mom was a splash - then that first baby of yours (the black one) is unlikely to be hers.

A splash mom with a splash roo would give all splash babies.
A splash mom with a blue roo would give 50% splash and 50% blue babies.
A splash mom with a black roo would give all blue babies.

The only way mom could give you a black baby is if mom was blue and the roo was either blue or black.

Oh you're so right! I didn’t even consider that part! And more than half the babies were black, so you must be right she must be blue (I attached the picture of the mom (Cochin yes?) with the babies at the breeder—I could have sworn she looked splash!). Out of the 9 babies she hatched, 3 were blue (one blue frizzle), 5 were black (1 black frizzle) and 1 was splash…but she definitely had more than one mate, they were just black or blue (the black frizzle pic must be one of the Dads). Okay well that makes sense! Still don’t know what breed but at least I have the color genetics right now! Thank you for helping with that!
