This is a two parter question for two of our chicks.
First, trying to figure out what breed these two are. The family we got them from along with our other chicks have Olive eggers, White Leghorns, Black Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans and Brown Hylines. My guess would be Olive eggers but the other Olive eggers we got are gray (or barred unless all 3 of our barred looking chicks from them are cuckoos) and I haven’t seen them with this coloration of feathers. As far as I know they keep the breeds all separate (they had separate coops/runs for each breed) but they had all the hatched chicks put into the same brooder for us to pick from.
Second, we got straight run and I tried my best being a total newbie at checking the wings as I was picking but I really had no idea what I was doing. I took pictures of each chick’s wings once we had them settled at home so I could obsessively analyze the pictures more
and was pretty sure chick 1 would be a hen and chick 2 I was still so unsure of at the time but now definitely thinking is a roo based on comb. They’re 5 weeks now and both are about the same size, but chick 2 is just slightly larger and has a larger, single comb that’s getting pink. Chick 1, who my girls named Honey, is my absolute favorite is the sweetest, most chill of the 16 babies we have and loves to be held and snuggled, but out of no where the past couple days *her* (
) legs got real thick (thicker than chick 2). Honey has a pea comb so it’s still really small, but i think it’s starting to turn pink and now I’m slightly obsessing over wanting to know what Honey’s going to be 
Collages of both of their developments along with individual photos of them from tonight.
We are planning to keep 1 rooster, but we have 3-4 for sure. It’s all a matter of choosing who we keep and will fit best with our family so if Honey is a rooster it’s game over for the rest of them
