Breed help on these sold as Sapphire Gems

When we got ours, they had passed the "cute chick" stage. We know one will have the golden ring on her neck, the other 3 will be a mix of grays. As long as you love them, it won't matter 💞💞💞💞

Hello everyone. I am new to the chicken work and my wife and I bought some on a whim yesterday for my birthday (today). We had discussed it and I have a 50 acre farm just east of where we live on the edge of the small town we live in here in Texas.

Anyways these were sold to use as Sapphire Gems from a farm store called Gebos, small chain in this area. I learned they purchase them from Hoovers I learned this morning when I went in to try to verify if they were indeed Sapphire Gems like they say. I also learned they have no idea, they just label and sale them however they are sold to them from Hoovers. After researching I feel pretty confident they are are not Sapphire Gems, but they look, to me, like they could be about 10 or so other breeds..lol So I would love some help!

Thanks!
Tanner

Very curious what they ended up being!

In my opinion, they all look like they are crele with straight combs. Based on the looks of the chicks and palm size my guess would be that they are Welbars. (Their leg color looks like it most closely matches Crele OEGB, though).

There's not too many breeds from Hoover's that this could be.

(Did I miss any?)

Lots of breeds will have the chipmunk pattern, but not too many that also have the white head spot.

It looks like they only gave them one cockerel, though, so that was nice (maybe not if you were expecting Sapphire Gems?) I guess this is the fun game where if the OP never responds, we will never find out!
