What breed of chicken are these? Got a mystery box of rare breeds - hens-from McMurrays this week.

Would Australorps be considered “rare” though? And mine had less white on them. But possible.

I think it should be one of these assortments though. They have many assortments but these were the only “rare” ones I could find. And the first one says it includes some from both assortments though mostly from the first. So looking at these should help narrow it down I think. Though of course they’re still a bit young to tell and could be about anything really. But should be any of the breeds listed on these two pages.

That’s another good option too. Also, looking at those lists as well as having seen others from other hatcheries before, I’m convinced hatcheries don’t know what “rare” is.

Oh and sorry if it seemed like I was being rude or trying to undermine you before or whatever, @oldhenlikesdogs didn’t mean to. Just figured looking at the website might help us narrow it down a bit haha although... I’m not sure it helped very much. some of those breeds look very similar as chicks lol

Yeah a lot of those rare breeds aren't very rare. After looking at the list maybe a blue andalusian and a Columbian Wyandotte?
