Came from McMurray. Just shy of 2 months old.

Thank you!

Pullet, really?! I’m not very good at sexing, and I thought the neck feathers were pointy enough to mean this was a male.

Easter eggers aren’t rare and the mystery chick is supposed to be a rare breed… 🤔

I'm also thinking pullet. That color/feathering is typically pullet, and there's nothing obviously rooster yet.

I also think she's an EE. In fact, she looks very like the "Ameraucana" they have featured on their Ameraucana page, just a few shades darker (note: McMurray's "Ameraucanas are not pure Ameraucanas, and don't conform to the SoP, and should properly be labeled Easter Eggers or something else).

Bummer on not getting anything rare, but at least you got a pullet! Who will hopefully lay pretty colored eggs.

What's considered "rare" is up for debate. If you filter by "rare breeds" on mcmurray's website you also get speckled Sussex, white silkies, new Hampshire, dark and light brahmas, delawares, barred rocks, jersey giants, cochins, and salmon favorelles. So who knows what their criteria for a "rare" breed is

Thank you both for the extra information! 😊 I was open to having a rooster, but am happier with another hen, and I do love those beautiful blue eggs! So this is good news.
