I got my chickens from Meyer Hatchery. With the exception of three Anconas and three Silver Laced Wyandottes, they're Adopt Me Bargain chicks, which means they could be anything Meyer hatches. I've been able to ID some of them like a red sex link, a Rhode Island Red, and three frizzle Easter Eggers. Others I haven't been able to ID. All are six weeks and two days old. Can y'all please help?

Chicken 1 - Is suspect a rooster by the comb, but am stumped by the breed and am open to correction if it's a hen.

Chicken 2 - Might be a hen by the comb? Possible Marans? Or am I way off base?

Chicken 3 - (The bird in the center of the picture) - Looks similar to Chicken 1 to me, but with a smaller comb, no tuft on the head, and a rounder breast.

Those are all the birds I got tolerable pictures of today. If you want to take a stab at the white and black birds in the foreground of Chicken 3, I'm interested in y'all's thoughts. If better pictures are needed of any of these birds, I'll try again tomorrow afternoon.

Thank you!

1 is definitely a male, and I think he's an olive egger or maybe some other kind of Legbar cross Easter egger.

2. Female. It fits splash Marans but could also be some kind of Marans cross 'egger.'

3. Another male. Could be a Bielefelder or a Legbar cross 'egger' of some kind.
Thanks, that's helpful. I'll watch as they continue to grow, but Olive Egger and Bielefelder weren't on my radar for those two. Looking at pictures on Meyer's web site, I see it now. Meyer does have a lot of hybrids so it wouldn't surprise me if I got some.

1. Is def a Rooster

2. is probs a Hen

3. Close call. Build and comb looks like a Rooster, but it may be a hen

Yes, I definitely think your first one is an Olive Egger with some CCL mixed in.

Not sure about the breeds of the other two. The last one has the yellow legs, barring, and straight comb of a Plymouth Barred Rock but could also be a mix because it almost looks like the chest has some brown in it in the photo.

Since you say they're only 6.5 weeks old, I believe the 2nd one pictured is a pullet and the other 2 are cockerels.

Thanks y'all, this is very helpful. I plan to post some more birds in the coming days and, hopefully, I'll get better at identifying them as I go. Looking at number 2 again, does it look more like a Splash Marans or a Blue (BBS) Birchen Marans? I'll also watch it grow. Those two are different sizes at maturity and lay very different numbers of eggs so those two factors may reveal more.

Now that the birds will be 12 weeks on Monday, I've taken some fresh pictures and am curious if previous guesses still hold.

Chicken 1 - Rooster. He's the showiest one I've got too. Skittish around people, but not aggressive. Any more thoughts on breed now that he's grown some more? Just by looks, I want this one to be in the running to be our rooster so I'm definitely curious if he can be identified. (Don't mind the big grey bird in the foreground).

Chicken 2 - Definitely a hen. Some kind of Marans, probably splash. I didn't get another picture though.

Chicken 3 - Cockerel. Bielefelder? He's a big'un with some heft. (Don't mind the pullet in the foreground).

I agree with your guesses on genders. The first cockerel is beautiful!
