Suppose to be all roosters... Now 8 weeks old. Trying to nail down breeds, have some guesses in mind, wanted other opinions. Also, the buff colored ones actually look more pullet-ish to me?

The chickens in pics 4 and 6 are more of the color of the (definite) rooster in pic 3, more of the blue/gray color. Most all of the chicks ( minus the buffs) have feathered legs.

Are they hatchery birds? If so, from what hatchery? That helps us narrow things down.

They're from meyer hatchery. They are suppose to be "purebred" or not mixed chickens (though clearly some of the genetics are a little wacky).

1 looks like a buff Orpington.
2 a white Langshan (looks like it has feathered legs).
The blue birds look like blue Andalusians.
The reds appear to be Rhode Island or Production reds.
The black bird in the last pic could also be an Andalusion (come in blue, black and splash) or maybe a Jersey Giant.
I'm not sure about the barred/creole looking bird.

Some of them do look like pullets, compared to the obvious cockerels.

Anyway, those are just my guesses :)

Was this the frypan special?

first looks like a buff Orp
white bird...hmm...looks like the only white feather footed bird they offer is a Cochin
the next guy I'm thinking Marans or possibly olive egger--does he really have a funky little crest, or was it just the wind?
probably a Marans
Olive Egger
probably a Marans
this next bird, I got nothin'. Some black sex link, but he doesn't look like the standard hatchery bsl male, too light bodied.
production red and partridge Rock
Australorp.

They are the "frypan" special. :). All of the boys that have the blue and brown (poss maran) look to them have the crazy feathers on their heads?? I had gone through the list of chickens they carried also and tried to figure out what was what, I just drive myself crazy trying to guess :). We were looking at possibly thinning the boys out (there's 54), but if some looked pulletish, I didn't want to only be left with them to eat. But I also don't want to try to sell off some roosters and tell people the wrong breed. Thanks for the info and the guesses!!

Any ideas when the more pullet-looking ones should look more roosterish (if they are?). My JG roo who is 10 weeks older was a noticeable roo at this age. The guy in pic #3 has also been crowing for close to 3 weeks now...

Okay, so the blue birds with funky head feathers could be Olive eggers, except they're not barred.....that's confusing. The colorful red/black barred bird I can easily see, as they're using crested cream legbars for olive eggers. But the ccl is barred, so any male offspring should be barred, even if crossed with another breed.....huh. I'm really not sure what else they could be, unless they're second generation Olive eggers, enough to have some tiny crest but lose the barring.

at only 8 weeks I'm not surprised some of your boys aren't very boyish now, especially Orpingtons, cochins, brahmas, things like that. You should have a really good idea at 12 weeks, if not sooner. Just butcher out the more developed boys and work your way down. If you get any surprise pullets, well, that'd be great!
