breed of ducks? (2 different breeds)

    They are not breeds, but wild species of Australian ducks.
    First one is a Hardhead
    Second one is a Pacific Black duck.

    thanks, do you live in Australia or just know alot about ducks, i spotted them when we went out on a house boat and thought theyd be great to have but i guess not [​IMG]...

    I live in Australia and these species are common, especially the Pacific Black. Did you see them in Australia or somewhere else? I was in Amsterdam just over a year ago and was walking along a canal which was lined with houses on the other side. In someone's back garden, which was partly the canal, they had fenced off an area of water and there were 6 Australian black swans swimming there. A totally unexpected sight!

    yes i did, i live in Australia. So you can keep them in captive???

    I don't know how the people in Amsterdam acquired the swans. You can't keep native Australian ducks captive in Australia (unless they are at a zoo or are being rehabilitated at a wildlife centre).

    well in Amsterdam nearly anything is legal.
