Breed on two pullets

Yeah they have all kinds of egger mixes on there and from the looks of it are using, at least in part, hoover hatchery as I see prairie Bluebell and starlight green eggers on here along with things like rare marans mixes etc. that they're known for.

Ok that gets me a better idea of what hatchery to look at! I'm going yo take a look!! Thank you!!! They told me they use someone local... maybe someone who buys from a hatchery? I'm having the worst luck with people telling me the truth about their chickens.....

If your looking for a specific breed go through the breed clubs. They can put you in contact with breeders. Hopefully there will be one close to you.

They also appear to use ideal poultry as well based on selling the ideal 236

:( I did with my brahmas and lets just say they are definitely not turning out breeder quality. But i got breeder price. :barnie:hit

Still love them but yeah...

There are some out there only looking to make a buck. So few it seems are truly dedicated to their breed, breed to standard, and most importantly breed to improve their birds. I personally give away any birds with defects. I probably give a way 50% of my offspring each year. I wouldn't charge somebody for a bird that I wouldn't use for a breeder.

I think you're one of the few and far between people :D

Ok spent the last hour or so looking at hatcheries that ship often to our area and these are the breeds/coloring that looked could be part of the mix!

I agree they look like the Norwegian Jaerhons! But also agreed the barring isn't quite right...
thinking:

Speckled Sussex
Buttercup
Maybe even Golden Cuckoo Marans
Any of those mixed in might explain the barring and speckling they have?
Olive Egger looks like a good possibility too.

I told the kids we have another mix so they started the egg color polling for them too :gig
